Bill and I grew up next door to each other - my grandparents and his great aunts were neighbors. We spent a lot of time on the corners of Forrest and Navarro from the age of 6 onward. My greatest memories were of Christmas. His aunts had the tallest Christmas trees I had ever seen with the most memorable decorations on the tree, around it and in the huge two-story living room each year. We went to different elementary schools and did not attend school together again until VHS. I was shocked with his early passing.
